MP Soroka Questions The Government’s Approach on Illegal Blockades

OTTAWA: Gerald Soroka, Member of Parliament for Yellowhead, rose in the House of Commons to ask the government when the agricultural, forestry, and coal producers in his riding would once again be able to get their products to market.

MP Soroka stated, “the Prime Minister’s weakness is costing Canada’s economy once again. People in Alberta and across the country have lost all faith in the government’s willingness to end the illegal blockades.”

In Response, Mr. Joël Lightbound (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, had this to say, “Mr. Speaker, we recognize the hardships that these blockades have placed upon many Canadians across the country and on the economy. However, there is no simple solution to such a complex problem…”
